International Women’s Day 2020: Women Who ROKiTMarch 6, 2020
This Sunday is International Women’s Day!
Here at ROKiT we are proud to partner with a number of exemplary women in racing. We want to acknowledge these game changers on International Women’s Day 2020. Won’t you join us?
Alexis is a professional NHRA Funny Car racer and one of the fastest women in the world. She joined the ROKiT family in early 2020 when she chose us to sponsor her return to the sport after a near three-year hiatus. Alexis is a fan favorite for her determination to push the boundaries for women in racing. Currently, she is the only active female Funny Car driver in the US. In addition to her racing career, Alexis is a mother to 17-year-old Isabella. The two are planning to roadtrip to Alexis’s races throughout this season. We are so excited to see Alexis back in the driver’s seat and look forward to her upcoming race on March 12 in Gainesville, Fla.

Claire is the deputy team principal of the ROKiT Williams Formula One team, a family business started by her father, Sir Frank Williams. As one of the most powerful women in racing, Claire is the only female leader of a Formula One team. Her team has the highest number of female staffers in Formula One and she is committed to addressing the gender pay gap in her sport. She is also a dedicated mother to her two-year-old son. We are proud to be the title sponsor for the ROKiT Williams Formula One team and to work with Claire on her visions for the future of racing. She is currently gearing up for the Australian Grand Prix on March 14.

At just 21 years-old, Jamie is a driver in the W Series — an all-female racing championship series launched in 2019 — and the winner of its inaugural season. She is also a development driver for the ROKiT Williams Racing team. Jamie holds the records for the first woman and youngest driver to win the British GT and the youngest winner of a 24-hour race. She hopes to one day race for a Formula One team and break the 45-year drought in female inclusion on the circuit. We are excited to see Jamie defend her title this season and witness all that is to come in her bright future as a driver. Her first race of the year is on May 30 in St Petersburg, Russia.

Susie is the team principal for the Formula E racing team, ROKiT Venturi Racing. She is the first female executive in Formula E and the first to secure a team win. Susie started her career as a professional driver, having raced in Formula Renault, Formula Three, and Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters, and served as a development driver for the former Williams Martini Racing. She is a vocal advocate for expanding opportunities for women in racing in addition to being the mother to her toddler, Jack. We are happy to be the title sponsor for ROKiT Venturi Racing over the next few years and to witness Susie’s continued efforts to bring more women into racing. We will be watching during the next Formula E race on April 18 in Paris.

Tatiana — now 26 — set her sights on becoming a professional racer when she was just 10 years-old. She is the first woman to win the National Karting Championships in both Colombia and the US and the first female to make the podium in British Formula 3. Tatiana also has a close bond with mentor Susie Wolff, our team principal at ROKiT Venturi Racing. This year we are excited to partner with Tatiana as she continues to defy expectations for women in her sport and break into new racing circuits. On April 19, she will become the first woman to race full-time in the Japanese Super Formula series.
